Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club, Ashley Robinson, said the drones would be useful along stretches of Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland beaches where beachgoers often ignored safety warnings and walked directly from their car to the surf.

He said the worst offenders were older men.
